I am Claude MUNGUIKO, married, born and raised in Idjwi, in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was on this peaceful island that I completed my primary education before continuing my secondary and university studies in Bukavu. In 2000, I obtained my nursing degree.
Around 2002, after my studies, I returned to Idjwi to serve my community. I held several positions in various health structures: nurse, nursing director, then head nurse in several local health centers. I also worked as an agent within the CPR-IDJWI organization.
Throughout my career, I was deeply touched by the misery that plagued the population. I saw people die at home for lack of means to access primary health care, others avoided hospitals for the same reason, and above all, I was marked by the many cases of acute malnutrition in children under five, a direct consequence of extreme poverty.
Faced with this reality that touched me like a wound to the heart, I felt it essential to commit myself further. This is how I participated in the creation of SOSPA, hoping to provide even modest concrete support to a long-suffering and forgotten community. My ambition is to help restore hope, improve living conditions and strengthen access to primary health care for the most vulnerable.
Together, we can invest in the people and projects that are courageously changing the future of Africa.
